People stopped using phone books because there was no use for them because you have the persons contact on your phone. -

TV was invented September 7, 1927. Now less and less people watch television. -

VCR's were invented September 9, 1976. VCR was discontinued in 2002. -
Walkman
July 1, 1979 the Walkman was invented mad by Sony. But Sony decided to stop making Walkman in October 22, 2010. -
Cd's
Cd's were invented in August 17, 1982. They stopped making CD's in November 2015. -
Blockbuster
Blockbuster opened in October 19, 1985, in Dallas. Between November 6, 2013 and January 12, 2014 Blockbuster was closed down. -
DVD Player
DVD players were invented March 31, 1997. People stopped using DVD players because better stuff came out so there was no use for it anymore.
