The Burning of the Bentley's Hotel
During the Eureka Rebellion many incidents happened. One of them were the burning of the Bentley's hotel. It was burnt down by a group of diggers in which took place of many tradgic deaths. -
The Eureka Rebellion
The Eureka Rebellion took place at Bakery Hill, Ballarat. It was a protest about the Miners to have the right to vote and they complained about the miners licence being to expensive. The leader of the Eureka Rebellion was Peter Lalor. The flag used for the Eureka Rebellion consisted of an 8 pointed star on a white cross with a blue background. -
The Welcome Nugget
In 1858 the Welcome Nugget was found at Bakery Hill, Ballarat by a group of 24 people. -
Chinese Miners
The Chinese Miners came to Australia all through out the year, Chinese Miners had a group of people, they had shifts through out the day which made finding gold easier and more efficient. -
Lambing Flat Riots
The Lambing Flat Riots were when the European and Australian miners ganged up on the chinese miners and did mean things to them such as burn their tents. 250 Chinese Miners got hurt and 70% of them lost all of their belongings. They also threatend the chinese miners to cut of their plaited pony tails. -
Buckland Riots
The Buckland Riot was an anti-Chinese race riot that occurred on 4 July 1857, in the goldfields of the Buckland Valley, Victoria, Australia. At the time approximately 2000 Chinese and 700 European migrants were living in the Buckland area. -
The Welcome Stranger
The finders of the welcome stranger were John Deason and Richard Oats, the find occurred on 5th February, 1869. -
Holtermann Nugget
The Holtermann's nugget was found in Hawkins Hill, Hill End in October 1872. It was measured 150cm by 66cm. It weighed 286kg. Thats like 7 Hanna's! -
Ned Kelly gets Hanged
Ned Kelly got hanged at the Old Melbourne Goal where he became an Australian legend and gained immortality.
