  • End of French and Indian War

    End of French and Indian War
    The end of this war resulted in the Paris Treaty, large debt to the American colonists, and an upper hand to the British. The colonists were of course enraged because of the British's new power and the debt the colonists owed.
  • The Sugar Act

    The Sugar Act
    This act, although decreases the tax on sugar, it enforced the tax. This made the colonist angry because they had no say it what they were being taxed on.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act
    This act made it that all letters or documents required a stamp to be passed on, those stamps however came with a tax to benefit the British. This angered the colonists so much so that they formed a protest.
  • The Declaratory Act

    The Declaratory Act
    This act served as a main ruler over the colonists, it did not ever get into motion, however it was meant to show the Americans that the British can still tax them whenever they need.
  • The Townshend Act

    The Townshend Act
    This act taxed goods and products that were imported or smuggled. Most colonists once again did not like this because America at the time relied a lot on imported goods from other countries.
  • The Tea Act

    The Tea Act
    The Tea act taxed tea that was imported over from Great Britain, however the tea was already cheap tea and the cost became even cheaper because of the tax. The colonist responded famously by dumping it into the ocean rebelliously.
  • Beginning of Revolutionary War

    Beginning of Revolutionary War
    Throughout many battles in many places, a war finally broke out when shots were fired in Lexington and Concord. The colonists were in a fragile situation, being in war, however due to an American victory it seemed to be going smoothly.
