  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act
    This act meant all printed material had to have a stamp however the stamps were not free. This caused some colonists to be very violent on the street when doing protests.
  • French and Indian War

    French and Indian War
    War ended after approx. 6 years
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    This act put taxes on sugar, molasses and other products in the American colonies. The colonists were angry because they hadn't got a say in what taxes the British were imposing.
  • Declaratory Act

    Declaratory Act
    British government had the power to tax colonists if they wanted to. Colonists didn't get very upset at first until the Townshend Act.
  • Townshend Act

    Townshend Act
    This act was for us Americans to stop smuggling and added taxes on a few other materials. We did not like this act a single bit at all.
  • Tea Act

    Tea Act
    British started taxing tea and sent cheap tea over to the American colonies. The Americans were so incredibly upset that they dressed up as Indians and threw a whole bunch of tea into the Boston Harbor.
