    All 13 states had ratified or approved of the Article of Confederations.
  • Independence

    Confederation signed a peace treaty with Britain that recognized America’s independence.
  • Shay’s Rebellion

    Farmers that were armed marched to multiple courts and mad them close, preventing them from foreclosure proceedings.
  • Revision of the Article.

    Delegates from the states began meeting to propose changes to the Articles of Confederation to help regulate trade and to make the national government more effective.
  • Creation of the Cabinet.

    Congress set up the departments of War, Treasury, Marine, and Foreign Affairs each with a single secretary.
  • Bill of Rights

    Congress approved 12 amendments and the states ratified 10 of them. They are known as the Bill of Rights.
