Agricultural Education
In 1917, the U.S Congress passed the "Smith-Hughes Act" which gave money for teaching Agriculture classes. This is supportive to give funds to Agricultural research and education around the U.S.A. -
Future Farmers Club
Virginia was the first state to have a club named Future Farmers. -
FFA became a National Organization
A network of teachers guided and showed students that were interested in the organization to establish a club and make team effort. -
NFA was formed
NFA means "New Farmers of America" for the black students that were interested in farming. -
FFA became a Federal Charter
FFA became one of very few student organizations to become a federal organization and it received a Federal charter from congress. -
FFA and NFA merged.
FFA a white only organization and NFA a black only organization merged into FFA. -
Girls are allowed into FFA
In 1969 Girls were allowed to join FFA for the first time. -
Name change of FFA
FFA changed it's name "Future Farmers of America" to National FFA Organization due to it growing in different subjects and things of that sort. -
National Convention
In 2012, National Convention completes are 7 year run through indianapolis and it goes back to Louisville, Kentucky. For three years. This is a major accomplishment
