  • Atlantic Charter

    The Atlantic charter was a joint declaration for nations and economic and social cooperation released by President Franklin D. Roosevelt and British Prime Minister Winston Churchill on August 14th, 1941.
  • Lend lease

    Lend lease
    The lend lease title was issued to promote the defense of the United States. A program in which the U.S. supplied the U.K., France, the republic of China, and other nations with food, oil, and other materials from 1941 to 1945
  • Pearl Harbor

    Pearl Harbor
    Japan staged a surprise attack on Americas naval base in Hawaii. Germany and Italy declared war on the U.S days later, and america found itself in a global war.
  • Island-hopping

    Island-hopping
    A military strategy employed by the Allies in the Pacific war against Japan. The idea was to by pass heavily fortified enemy islands instead of trying to capture every island to get the the final destination.
  • Japanese Internment camps

    Japanese Internment camps
    The camps were established during WWII by President Roosevelt from 1942-1945. It was the policy of the US government that people of Japanese descent would be in isolated camps.

    This battle is famous in history as one of the last stands of American and Filipino soldiers before they were overwhelmed by the Japanese in WWII.
  • Battle of Midway

    Battle of Midway
    Battle of Midway was a huge naval battle in the pacific during WWII. It took pace 4-7 of June. It was against Japan 6 months after they attacked Pearl Harbor.
  • Guadalcanal

    Guadalcanal
    The battle was the first major offensive victory for the allies in the pacific. Possession of a Guadalcanal airbase was important to control of the sea lines of communication between the U.S and Australia. The battle ended in February 9th, 1943.

    Starting November 8th, 1942, Operation Torch was the Anglo-American invasion of French Morocco and Algeria during the North African Campaign of WWII.
  • The Italian Campaign

    The Italian Campaign
    From July 10th, 1943 to May 2nd 1945 was a series of allied beach landings and land battles from Sicily and southern Italy up the Italian mainland toward Nazi Germany.
  • D-Day

    D-Day
    D-Day was when troops from the UK, France, US, and Canada all attacked German forces on the coast of northern France. It was the largest military naval, air and land operation ever attempted.
  • Meeting at Yalta

    Meeting at Yalta
    The Yalta conference held from February 4th-11th was the WWII meeting of the head governments of the US, UK, and the Soviet Union to discuss the postwar reorganization of Germany and Europe.
  • Fall of Berlin

    Fall of Berlin
    The battle began April 16th when the soviets attacked along the Oder river near Berlin. They defeated the German outside Berlin and advanced on the city. By the 20th the soviets began bombing Berlin and the battle didn't end until May 2nd, 1945.
  • Los Alamos

    Los Alamos
    The Worlds first atomic bomb was detonated 200 miles from Los Alamos. The test proved that the scientist had successfully weaponized the atom.
  • Meeting at Potsdam

    Meeting at Potsdam
    The Potsdam conference was held in Potsdam, Germany from July 17th to August 2nd 1945. Leaders from the Soviet Union, United States, and United Kingdom got together. The leaders were Joseph Stalin, Winston Churchill, and Harry S. Truman.
  • Hiroshima/Nagasaki

    Hiroshima/Nagasaki
    The United States dropped two nuclear bombs over the Japanese cities Hiroshima and Nagasaki from August 6th-9th. The bombs killed over 200,000 civilian people, and for months after people continued to from sicknesses and injuries from the radiation. Japan surrendered shortly after.
