WWI Starts
WWI begins on July 28, 1914. The war at the time was called the Great War was between the Central Powers and the Allied Powers. The Central Powers consisted of Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy. The Allied Powers consisted of Britain, France, and Russia. -
WWI Ends
The Great War ends between the Central and Allied powers. Germany surrendered and the Allied powers won the war. Most of the war was fought in Europe causing a lot of destruction. They created the Treaty of Versailles which made Germany pay the reparations of the war. -
James E. Hoskins is Inducted
Woodrow Wilson inducted James into the war. He was inducted in Fairfield, Iowa. He would now be in the military service to leave his wife and his parents. He was officially be inducted on July 22, 1918. -
James is Discharged
After approximately 8 months, he was discharged from war. V.H. Halprin discharged him to be sent back home to his family. In the discharge letter, he describes his physical and mental health to his wife Mrs. Hoskins.
