Operation Husky
American and British forces invade Sicily from the South. Germans were heavily scattered around the island. Even though the Allies were sucessful, they lost a ton of lives, especially the airborne troops, that only 12 out of the 160 airborne C-43 planes made it to the Italian homeland without being shot down. -
