The military had a great influence on government, especially during the 19th and 20th centuries. Generals and Admirals would take on the role of a minister. They would also able to advise political leaders on decsions that shoud be made for the country. The military would have a great demand for spending, for their weapons and armor. Militarism formed our society, they influenced our culture as American citizens, they greatly influnced the media and the public's opinion. -

Otto Von Bismarck
Otto Eduard Leopold von Bismarck was born April 1, 1815. Otto Von Bismarck was a Prussian landowning nible, or a Junker. Bismarck emphasized his rural Junker traditions, paying no attntion to his vast knowledge and cosmopoletian outlook. Chancellor Bismarck won a succession of wars which allowed him to form a new German Empire around a Prussian core. He wanted a careful series of allicances and foreign policy descions, which would later stabilize Europe until Germany was established. -

The assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie, took place on the 28th of June of 1914. They were shot by a man named, Gavrillo Princip, in Sarajevo the Capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. -
