Hester recieves the capital A on her chest for commiting adultery and must wear it wherever she goes. -
Hesters husband adopts the name of Chillingworth
Hester see's her husband in the crowd whom she had commited adultery on. Hester chooses to keep her husbands identity a secret and he then adopts the name of Chillingworth. -
Chillingworth vs. Dimmesdale
Chillingworth chooses to become a doctor and take care of Dimmesdale the minister. The two become suspicious about each other and Chillingworth continues to question to Dimmesdale for seven years. -
The Confession
Hester chooses to tell Dimmesdale of Chillingworth's true identity.The two agree that they must flee to Europe to start over. -
The Boat
Hester and Dimmesdale board the ship in order to escape Europe. Chillingworth gets on the ship as a doctor and Dimmesdale soon reveals that he has a confession to be made. -
The Aftermath
Dimmesdale reveals that he to has a Scarlet Letter on his chest and reveals it to the boat. He goes and dies followed by Chillingworth a few years later. Hester soon follows and the two share a single tombstone with the letter A on it.
