She became a Queen at the edge of 18
On the morning, Victoria was woken at 6am. Still wearing her nightgown, she was informed that her uncle, King William IV, had died during the night. This meant that she was now queen of England. She took the news calmly and simply requested an hour alone. And began the construction of Westminster Palace ( House of Parliment). Victoria was critizated because she was too young to governate . -
The Bedchamber crisis.
Lord Melbourne declared his intention of being a Prime Minister . The Queen Victoria asked to Duke of Wellington then invited leader Robert Peel to form a government. Peel realized that such a government would hold a minority . Lord Shaftsbury was offered the post of prime minister, but he also refused. Finally the Whigs and Lord Melbourne stayed in power. The refusal of the queen to replace some of the ladies in waiting was criticism.Victoria saw the ladies as friends -
The Wedding.
Victoria’s diary revealed that she found the young prince “extremely handsome” “his eyes are large and blue, and he has a beautiful nose and a very sweet mouth with fine teeth;it was Victoria who proposed to Albert. Then they got married. -
Royal Family
Just over nine months after their wedding, Victoria and Albert’s first child, Princess Victoria, was born at Buckingham Palace. Victoria and Albert went on to have a total of nine children - four boys and five girls. -

When she was 42, Victoria suffered the death of her husband Albert . Albert unexpectedly died . Albert had caught a chill, which then developed into typhoid fever. -
