A crowd of about 1200 people marched toward Vincennes and began to destroy the dungeons which was holding the prisoners with intent to kill the prisoners. 400 armed aristocrats were arrested that day. -

It was a statement that declared the joint support of the Holy Roman Empire and of Prussia for King Louis. -

Maribeau was already an experienced politician He managed to gain power and people put great faith in him becasue he was on the side of the revolution. He said that the people should be able to lead the revolution how the want too. -
The Royal Family Flees
King Louis feared for the safety of his family so they attempted to flee to Austria. Almost to Austria, they were stopped by a guard and returned to their castle as prisoners. King Louis had to accept any demands the people wanted. -
Food Riots
In Paris, food was becoming to expensive for families to buy, and it wasnt getting any cheaper. Bread was a large part of their diet and its prices skyrocketed so peasants began to fight for it. They became angry at bakeries and started to riot. -
Storming of Tuileries Palace
Many guards were massacred and King Louis was arrested. 600 guards were killed and many attmepted to surrender but were killed anyway becasue the crowd was infuriated because of how the guards fired on the crowd. -
September Massacres
The september massacres were waves of mob violence during the revolution. By the end, half of the prison population in France has been killed. -
King Louis XVI is Executed
By not having a king there isnt a divine power in the country. Without a divine power there is less authority and anarchy can further ensue. -
Assassination of Jean-Paul Marate
Corday assassinated Marat because she was affraid of an impending all out civil war. She believed his death would end violence throughout the nation. She ended up being tried and executed for the murder. -
Law of Suspects
The law of suspects marked the weakening of individual freedoms that lead to revolutionary paranoia. The law ordered the arrest of any enemies, which included nobles, officials, and officers suspected of treason. It became more strict as time continued. -
Robespierre Come to Power
Although Robespierre was a bourgeois, he became the spokesperson for the common people. He conducted a reign of terror during the time he was in power beheading many, many people. -
Thermidorian Reaction
This was a revolt that was triggered by a vote of the National Convention. They voted to execute Robespierre and many other leaders which ended the most radical phase of the revolution.
