WWII ends with Germany's defeat and sectored into 4 areas which is controlled by U.S, England, France and the U.S.S.R :the same also happens to its capital Berlin. -
Change in Currency
West Germany changes thier currency to deutshe marks, making East Germnay's orginal currency devalued. -

The Berlin Blockade
During this time Stalin cuts off all of the rails, roads and the electricty that lead into West Berlin. This meant food and other supplies has to be dropped by planes to the people within West Berlin. -

West Germany creates the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG) -
Germnay Divided
U.S, France and Britain merge and West Germany becomes the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG) and East Germany becomes German Democratic Republic (GDR). -

East Germany creates the German Democratic Rebulic (GDR) -
Forbidden to Leave
It is forbidden to leave East Germnay without permission and may be prosocuted for up to three years. -
The Berlin Wall is Built
The Berlin Wall is errected and the boarder between East and West Germany is closed using barbed wire and fencing; then soon concrete. -

First Escape
An East Germany boarder guard is the first person photograpghed escaping. -
First Fatality
Ida Siekman jumps from one of her aparment building windows, trying to jump over the wall but falls and is fataly injured. -
Orders to Shoot
East German soldiers are given the order to shoot anyone trying to cross the boarder; Günter Litfin is also the first to be shot on this day. -
In the Boarder Strip
Peter Fetcher dies inbetween the boarder strip, on the East side but in view of West German soldiers were neither are able to assit him. -
President John. F Kennedy's Speech
U.S President John. F Kennedy delivers a famous speech “Ich bin ein Berliner” (I am a Berliner), to show solidarity with West Germany and all Berliners. -
Allowed into East Germnay
West Berliners are allowed for a limited basis to vist relatives in East Berlin -
Stricter Controls
East Germany makes boarder controls stricter by adding to the wall. -
Quadripartite Agreement on Berlin
This was an agreement made by U.S, Britain, France and the U.S.S.R, which made transport easire going to and from Berlin and lessened travel ristrictions into East Germnay. -

Behinde the orignal wall, a second is built deeper in West Germany with touch sensitive fencing. -
Fourth Generation Fortification
East Germany fortificates the orignal wall with concrete walls that have steel tubing across the top, making it difficult to climb the fence that would trip an alarm, as well as anti-vehicle fortifications like watchtowers, spotlights, strips of 5-inch spikes, minefields (until 1983) and trenches before the actual wall. -
Teenagers Killed
East German soldiers fight with protesters who are demaning "bring down the wall", and inorder to reclaim control and kill three teenagers in the process. -
President Ronald Reagan's Speech
U.S President Ronald Reagan also dilvers another famous speech, “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!” at Brandenburg Gate. -

Hungary Opens Its Boarders
Hungary allows East Germans to come through its boarders, when it cuts its wored boarders with Austria. -
The Monday Demonstration
Had 320,000 people gather in protest, and becae so large that they could no longer be ignored by authorities in East Germnay. -
Alexanderplatz demonstration
1 million people rally within East Berlin aginast the Berlin Wall and called for a reform with people of all staure speking up against it, (The week after The Monday Demonstration). -
The Berlin Wall Is Brought Down
At BornHomler Strasse the boarder between East and West Germany is opened at 10:00 pm, with other crossing points being opened later. -
