Steven Spielberg was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was the oldest child in a family of four children. His mom was a concert pianist, while his dad was an engineer and a pioneer in the field of computers ("Steven Spielberg." biography.com). -
13 Year Old Film Maker
When Spielberg was 13 he proved his abilities in film making when he won a contest with his film Escape to Nowhere (Harmon). -
Firelight
Firelight was Spielberg's first feature-length film. He showed his movie at a local theater and was able to earn back the money it cost to make the film (Harmon). -
Duel
Duel was the movie that started it all for Spielberg, its' success gave Spielberg the opportunity to start directing movies ("Steven Spielberg." biography.com). -
Jaws
In 1975, he produced a thriller called Jaws ("Steven Spielberg." biography.com). -
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Spielberg is also famous for Raiders of the Lost Ark and it's sequels, which we all know better as Indiana Jones's movies ("Steven Spielberg." biography.com). -
E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial
In 1982, he produced E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial, an amusing alien movie ("Steven Spielberg." Encyclopedia Britannica). -
Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award
In 1986, Spielberg revieved the Irbing G. Thatlberg Memorial Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences ("Steven Spielberg" biography.com). -
Jurrassic Park
Jurrassic Park, a movie Spielberg produced in 1993, was a thriller about dinosaurs ("Steven Spielberg" biography.com). -
Schindler's List
Another one of Spielberg's films that was released in 1993 was Schindler's List, a movie about the Holocaust that won critical acclaim (Harmon). -
Righteous Persons Foundation
In 1994, Steven Spielberg established the Righteous Persons Foundation to help support the Jewish community ("Righteous Persons Foundation"). -
Science Fiction Hall of Fame
In 2005, Spielberg was inducted into the Science Fiction Hall of Fame ("Steven Spielberg" biography.com). -

A cat is a symbol that represents Spielberg because it "symbolizes...creativity" ("Cat"). He was able to create movies about all different kinds of things. His movies covered a large variety of genres, such as sci-fy, thriller, family, and even drama. He was a very creative and inspired many other people. -
Purple
Purple is a very good color to represent Spielberg. Purple symbolizes "ambition...[and] wealth" ("Purple"). Spielberg has great ambition, even as a child he set his goals on being a filmmaker. Spielberg is also quite wealthy from all of the movies he has produced, many of which that have won awards. -
