Velcro was invented in 1948 by George de Mestral. This was a significant technology because it enabled children to learn to fasten their own clothing. Velcro could also be used around the house, keeping items secured. -

Emergency services could be contacted quicker after an accident. Mobile phones have evolved so much from when the were created. Some people no longer have a landline because they have a mobile phone. -

YouTube was invented in 2005 by Chad Hurley, Steven Chen and Jawed Karim. This was a significant technology because it enabled people to look up many different kinds of videos, for example, how to videos, music videos and different types of podcasts.
