Hitler Rises to Power
Italy was not the only nation to lose faith in capitalism and democracy, Germany turned towards an authoritarian leader as well. The Fascist party arose to power in the 1920’s as a reaction to terrible economic conditions and resentment over the Treaty of Versailles. Adolf Hitler, also a powerful speaker and organizer, rose through the ranks to become the leader of the Nazi party. -
Francisco Franco's Negotiation With Hitler
After the defeat of Spain in May 1940, Hitler resuemed negotiations with Franco. They met up in Hendaye on October 23rd, 1940. Hitler's requested to have his troops to travel through Spain to link up with an airbourne Gibraltar. Franco refused because he thought Germany would not win a long war. -

Stalin ordered many different orders to the military, such as killing any deserters on the battlefield and captured over 300,000 polish soldiers and executed them. Stalin was a very brutal leader. -

Stalin, during World War II, had made a pact with Hilter, but was later broken by Hitler. Stalin was the ruler of Russia. He wanted to be with Germany but since they broke the pact, Russia had to go against them. -
Hideki Tojo
Born 30th December 1884. Hikeki Tojo became the prime minister of Japan in October 1941. He led the Japan into war with America and Great Britain. When Tojo knew he wasn't going to win the Battle of Saipan, he shot himself in the chest and survived in 1944. He was then nursed back to health then was executed in 1948. -
Benito Mussolini
Bennito Mussolini. Born 29 July 1883. Died 28 April 1945. After destroying all political opposition through his secret police and outlawing labor strikes, Mussolini and his fascist followers consolidated their power through a series of laws that transformed the nation into a one-party dictatorship. Mussolini remained in power until he was replaced in 1943; he remained the leader of the Italian Social Republic until his death in 1945. -
Hitler's reign ends
In the last days of the Nazi rule, with the Russian troops in the suburbs of Berlin, Hitler entered into a last stage of desperation in his underground bunker in Berlin. He ordered Germany destroyed, believing it was not worthy of him. He expelled his trusted lieutenants Heinrich Himmler and Hermann Göring from the party and made a last, theatrical appeal to the German nation. Adolf Hitler committed suicide on April 30, 1945, leaving behind a legacy of evil and terror unequaled by any leader.
