The day I was born
I was born in Omaha, Nebraska on February 19th, 2008. I am the first born and my parents only daughter. I was born with blue eyes and blonde hair like my Dutch family. -
My brother was born
I have a younger brother, named Michael who is two years younger than me. This is a major event because he is an important part of my life because I will know and love him forever. -
Flood
There was a flood that I remember when I was pretty little. It flooded our basement because our sump pump broke. We had to get it re-done and I don't remember what my basement looked like before the flood but I remember my parents being upset that our basement was ruined. -
First day of kindergarten
I was 5 when I started Kindergarten and I went to South Hanover Elementary School. I remember so so thrilled to go to school and have my own big girl desk. What I did not know was that I would not in fact get my own desk. I was so disappointed that we were in groups at big tables. But it ended up being okay because I loved being in school and doing all the activities. -
Snow storm
We would always go to South Dakota for Christmas because that is where all my dads family is from/lived. I remember Christmas was usually white but it never actually snowed, but this Christmas it actually snowed on the day. I remember being so exited and my cousins from Arizona saw their first ever snow fall. We made a snowman because we were so exited. -
Eagles v. Patriots Superbowl
Every year my family hosts a Super bowl party for our neighbors and some close friends. I remember this year especially because it was the first year I was actually interested in the game and understood it. Most of the families were either fans of the Eagles or Patriots so there was some friendly competition going on. Overall it was just a really good time. It also shocked the nation because it was a big win for the Eagles. -
Getting stuck on an airplane
We always had the worst luck getting home from South Dakota around winter because of the weather and all the delays. This one year we ended up getting on multiple different airplanes and got stuck overnight in Chicago and ended up not being able to find a flight so we had to drive home. The weather was not on our side and we were all so tired and miserable, but we made it home. -
Covid-19
When I was 12 years old we got the news that we would be sent home for 2 weeks. I was so exited, I mean who wouldn't want 2 weeks off from school. Little did we know that those 2 weeks would turn into so much more time. I could say that COVID was bad, but for me I did miss my friends and was sad I couldn't see them but I had a great time too. I got to go on so many adventures near me and do fun things I had never did before. I got to spend more time with my family and experience new traditions. -
Soccer Team Won Regionals
In June of 2022 me and my Penn FC soccer team went to regionals in West Virginia. This was our first big event we went to and weren't expected to win, but we did! I was so thrilled and felt a sense of pride for what I had accomplished. It was a long week of soccer and I was so tried when I came home. But on the way back I felt a sense of great accomplishment and just so amazed at what me and my team were capable of. We went to nationals after & didn't do very well but it was a good experience. -
Knee Surgery/District Camps
Last November our LDGS team won the district championship! But I ended up going down in the second half an having a dislocated knee cap which required a surgery and a 6 month recovery. When I got hurt I knew it was bad because I heard a pop. I was so scared and frustrated of what was to come with my injury. But at the same time I was so happy for my team since we won and I played the rest of the game. I loved playing with the team and it was such an accomplishment.
