1st Crusade launched
During the crusade, knights and peasants from many nations of Western Europe travlled over land and by sea, first to Constantinople and then towards Jerusalem, as crusaders; the peasants greatly outnumbered the knights. Peasant and knights were split into separate armies; however, because the peasants were not as well-trained in combat as knights, their army failed to reach Jerusalem. -

The Second Crusade
The 2nd crusade was announced by Pope Eugene III and was the first to be led by European kings like Louis VII of France. The crusade was a failure. -

Saladin retakes the city of Jerusalem
The Muslim general captured the hoy city. Muslim immediately clambered up and removed the cross that the Crusaders had mounted on the cupola of the Dome of the Rock. -

The Third and Last Crusade
The 3rd crusade was launched by the European kings in an attempt to recapture the Holy Lands, but they failed. -
Apr 8, 1302
Siege of Acre
In 1302 the Muslims would launched an attack on the Crusader-controlled city of Acre. While there, the Muslims destroyed the towers and massacred the townspeople. This battle was very important as it marked the end of the Crusader movement. This is was the last piece that Holy Roman Empire controlled of the Holy land, as well as the last piece they lost. -
