The British Empire gave the United States their independence because of the lack of money to support the country. The British empire also wanted the United States as trading partners instead.

The Triple Alliance is made of Italy, Germany, and Austria-Hungary. These countries made an alliance to maintain peace within Europe.

Britain, Fance, and Russia are grouped together that make the Triple Entente. They grouped together to prevent Germany from taking over.

Majority of Ireland was catholic and the British empire was mostly protestant. Ireland was fed up with the religion differences and went to war to gain independence. While in war Ireland was granted independence and signed a peace treaty with the British empire.

The Axis Powers are made up of Germany, Italy, and Spain. They got together to create a force big and strong enough to take over territory. They wanted expansion.

OPEC stands for Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries. These countries got together to form an organization to majke sure they control the cost and supply of oil.

PLO stands for the Palestine Liberation Organization. The purpose for this organization was to protect the rights' and unite all Palestinians. Israel and Egypt were involved.

DEVOLUTION-Quebec
Quebec wanted to be seperated from the rest of Canada because of difference in language. Canada granted them autonomy. They also wanted to be separated because of the difference in religion. They were majority catholic while the rest was dominately protestant.

During this time the Berlin Wall, separating the division of two global powers (West and East Germany) fell. Germans were able to cross the border.

DEVOLUTION-Czechoslovakia/Czech Republic and Slovakia
Czechoslovakia split into Czech Republic and Slovakia because of the difference in ethnic groups. SLovakia also wanted to split even more because of the share of money they were receiving from the more industrial side (the Czech Republic side). They wanted their own share from the European Union.

DEVOLUTION-British Empire/ Scotland
Scotland wanted independence from the British Empire because they did not like the share of money/resources that they were receiving from the European Union. They wanted their own power over their country so they would receive more money. Scotland had a good supply of oil reserves and natural gas, but protection was lacking. The British Empire gave them protection. In 1997 they granted Scotland with autonomy.
