Barthélemy Thimonnier invents the first sewing machine in France. At first his invention was not public but later became a model that other machines were built off of. This invention is important because it made sewing faster by making the job mechanical and not by hand. -

William Austin Burt pattented the Typographer which was the first typewriter in the United States. This improved writing because it made consistent letter marks on a consistent physical paper structure. -

Invented by Kirkpatrick Macmillan, this invention created a faster way to transport oneself. The bicylce allowed someone to pedal in order to propel the machine without placing their feet on the ground. Made a different way to transport someone rather than walking. -
