The Stamp Act
The Stamp ActThe British placed a tax that had anything to do with paper. The British taxed the colonists so they could become wealthier and have more control over the colonists. As a result, the colonists boycotted all taxed papers. The taxes were then dropped by the British in 1776. -
Boston Massacare
Boston MassacreThe Boston Massacare took place in Boston on March 5, 1770. Several Regulars, or British soilders fired into a mob of colonists, killing 5 and wounding 6 even after they were told not to fire. It started after a mob of 50 colonists surroned a group of British troops. The troops were charged with the murders, but were later aquitted when they were defended by John Adams -
Intolerable Acts
Intolerable Acts4 acts were passed in the wake of the Boston Tea Party. The British Parliment hoped these disciplinary actions would make an example of Massachusetts. The colonists saw this as a random abuse to their rights and in 1774 they created the First Continental Congress to make a protest. The American Revoluntionary War broke out the following year
