  • The First Test

    Notch puts on YouTube that he made a cave game and he is the only one who owns it. He didn’t have a name for it that time, but he made other cave games before.

  • Classic Mode Released

    Classic Mode Released
    Notch releases the game at last, but only a prototype known as “Classic Mode.” It was for free at that time, but only had basic settings. Now known as the demo, it was very laggy and boring.

  • Survival Mode

    Survival Mode
    Survival mode was made, and it got a humongous difference, where people were made to survive. Ex: Health, hunger, etc.

  • Indev Released

    Indev Released
    One of the biggest updates! Bigger Maps, 3D Clouds, New Terrain generation. Released by Mojang December 23rd 2009. And hunger was removed.

  • Infdev

    Infdev
    Infdev was released on February 27, 2010 and brought new features and upgrades. New automatically expanding maps, 3D Clouds and New Recipes for crafting.

  • Alpha

    Alpha is Released on June 28th 2010. This version contains 2 different major updates; “Secret Friday Updates and the Halloween Updates.” Since it’s a secret, what could have made it better? I know for one thing, iron and diamonds!

  • Beta

    Beta
    The Halloween Update brought a new dimension to Minecraft, pumpkins, nether rack and soul sand. New mobs and new biomes. This is considered as a major Update.

  • Adventure Mode

    The Adventure Update was released on June 10, 2011. This update was the largest update they ever released and had to cut it up into pieces and give it out over time. This update included NPC villages, New Mobs, Nether Fortresses, etc. Hunger comes back.

  • Minecon And The End

    Minecon And The End
    The very first Minecon in Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas, Nevada. After the Minecon, Notch felt so proud that he went home, and he made a version called 1.0, and he also made the end of Minecraft! Also known as The End. In The End you fight an Ender Dragon. To defeat him you must shoot arrows at the crystals that heal him. Then when he comes down hit him with a sword or shoot him with a bow in mid-air.
