Brown V. Board of Education Ruling

May 17, 1954

Thurgood Marshall argued for Brown in the case. NAACP's lawyer.
The case stayed in the supreme court for a year and a half. Brown wins the case. Linda Brown wanted to go to a white school that was closer to her home. Case was argued in front of the warren court.

Montgomery Bus Boycott

Dec 1, 1955

Boycott & Rosa Parks. Rosa Parks was a black women who basically set the boycott into motion. The boycott was to help the blacks end segregation on buses.

Sit-ins

Feb 1, 1960

Jim crow laws & sit ins. Blacks an whites were not allowed to eat at the same places, the blacks wanted to put an end to that.

Freedom rides

May 4, 1961

Civil disobedience.
