First "film" created
The first film wasn't really a film it was just pictures taken quickly after the other.It began when some people didn't believe horses put down all four legs when they're racing. To prove/debunk this the people took pictures of a horse running. It was found that the horse did used all four legs/hooves. -
1st film studio built in the US.
Thomas Edison built the 1st film studio in the US. It was named the Black Maria. The studio later produced 1,086 films between 1910 and 1917. -
Public Screening
Public Screening began in 1895 when the first commercial movie was created. The movie was created my the Lumiere Brothers from france.They created the film was shown throughout a projector they developed called the Cinematographe. -
1st Full length movie
The 1st full length movie was The Story of the Kelly Gang in 1996. It was over an hour long it was about the different techniques the British army used for training. -
Sound in movies
In 1927 was finally used in film with the help of the vitaphone. The vitaphone was a device that aloud sound be used in films. The Jazz Singer was the 1st movie that had synchronized dialogue. -
Hollywood's "Golden Age"
Hollywood's golden age was dominated by studios like Warner Brothers, RKO, Fox, MGM and Paramount which were known as the Big 5. Hollywood boosted their reputation with the introduction of sound. The 30s was where the golden age is said it peaked even with the great depression about more than 80 million citizens still went to the movies each week. -
Technicolor
A technicolor is a series of color motion picture. The technicolor helped shape the way our movies or tv shows look today.Movies that used the technicolor is The wizard of Oz and Gone with the wind. -
McCarthyism
McCarthyism was a problem to the film industry. It threatened actors and the Hollywood ten. Many were accused of communism and many were placed in jail. -

Movie ratings were released in 1968 which were G, PG, X. This would inform people what kind audience its meant to be for. PG-13 would be added later and X would be replaced by NC-17 -
