This day is a public holiday in Spain because it conmemorates the Constitutional Referendum of 1978 when the Spanish Constitution was passed. It was the first time that Spanish people could vote democratically about the laws for our country. In Hungary and Germany the children get sweets, because St. Nikolaus came one time and gave sweets to children. -

On the 25th and the 26th the Germans and the Hungarians visit their families and friends. The Spanish people get their presents on the 25th and stay with their family. The Olentzero brings presents for children in The Basque Country(Euskal Herria) They have lunch together and eat “turron“ for dessert. -
