Leaving England
Yesterday we left Plymouth but, we went back to shore because of storms. When I awoke this morning one of the five ships had a broken mast and another was thrown ashore and slightly "bruised". Captain Drake said we will head back to Plymouth to make repairs. We will set sail from Plymouth again on the 13th of December. -

Cape Blanco
Today we arrived at Cape Blanco, We found a ship at anchor here. It was occupied by two mariners (sailors). Drake said that we will raid the ship for their supplies. We took the ship further into the harbor. We remained there for 4 days. We will depart from this harbor the 22. of January. -

Island of Maio
Drake and I along with 61 other men went to explore this island. We found it to be uninhabited, but very fruitful. We refreshed ourselves with ripe and sweet grapes. We have found a fruit called cocos (coconuts). We traveled further into the island and saw a herd of cabritos. We then returned to our ships and departed by the 31st -

Out at sea
We have just departed from the island of Maio. As we passed by the island of Santiago the inhabitants fired three cannons but, they fell short and we were safe. The island was rich, fruitful, and inhabited by the portuguese. -

out at sea
After we away from the islands we saw a ship to the right of us. We gave chase to it and it had a treasure. It was stocked with wine. After we loaded the wine onto our ships. We continued on our way. After a while Drake said we were coming up on an island. -

Ilha do Fogo
When we got to Ilha do Fogo, we saw that the north side of the island was a volcano. The south side was covered in trees with the greenest leaves. There was lots of freshwater streams. This island is also inhabited by the portuguese. We departed the next day. -

Out at sea
We have been at sea for about three weeks. We have been dealing with raging seas, terrible lightning, and ships getting flooded. But good did come of this. We ended up with a great stoe of fish. We still have not had sight of land. -

Cape of Joy
We have found a place where there is sweet smelling air and it is very fruitful. There were also many large deer to hunt, but still not any people. As we continued we found many footprints that showed they were men of great stature. A week after, we set sail.
