  • DDT Date of Usage, after Pearl Harbor

    After the bombing of pearl harbor, the US military had rushed DDT to the battle zones in an effort to protect american soldiers from an insect borne disease called typhus, which is spread by lice and if left untreated can kill.
  • when did Rachel Carson warn The US (and the world) about DDT

    DDT had the potential to cause collateral damage to wildlife.
    Biologists and chemists later acknowledged her claims and that there may be problems with DDT. such as death of fish and other wildlife, but the Readers Digest didn't like what she said about it, even though it had been proven to be of massive damage to wildlife.

    in 1970- the World Health Organization banned the use of DDT, A persistant organchlorine insecticide.
    It is believed that malaria kills 2.7 million people per year
    Manafucture and use of DDT was banned in the US in 1972, on the advice of the US environmental protection agency.
