He met with Major John Arnold and signed a traitorous pact. Conspiracy was found out and Andre was executed. Arnolad led troops in Virginia and Conneticut. He later moved to England. -
French and British battle in Chesapeake Bay
The battle was inconclusive, but a major defeat for the Britih. Decisive French victory. Important people were Sir Thomas Graves and Francois Joseph Paul. -
Siege of Yorktown
Americans won. Cornwallis settled in Yorktown to wait for supplies. Washington and his troops headed for Yorktown while the French headed for him by ship. Important person was General Cornwallis. -
Cornwallis surrenders
French and Washington's troops trapped Cornwallis and forced him to surrender. Important person is George Washington.
