  • First Network Built

    In 1940 the first network was built by George Stibitz and his team. Was accomplished by hooking the computers up over a phone line.

  • ARPANET Invented

    In 1969, ARPANET (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network), was created. This was the beginning stages of the internet. It was developed by ARPA, and the Department of Defense.

  • The "Internet" is born

    On January 1st, 1983, the internet was born.It uses all the technology of the older networks to combine everything together using a standard to communicate with each other. (TCP/IP)
