This was a Conference between Stalin, FDR, and Churchill. They discussed how they were going to make Germany Surrender and made plans for a post-war. This affected the war because they're decisions could make there relationship with other countries worse. -
Potsdam Conference
The Potsdam Conference was the last conference held after WWII by the big three. from the GASPIRE+ themes this would be political because it was a conference between the presidents.This impacted the Cold War because this could be a problem for the countries. -
Marshall Plan
The Marshall Plan was a plan to help Europe economically recover. Europe had declined the money because they didn't want to be in debt. In the GASPIRE+ themes this would be Economic because the US offered them 13 billion dollars so that Europe could get things they needed fro the people.This impacted the Cold War because it made it so the Europeans gained the US trust. -

The Berlin Blockade arose by the Soviet Union to let the Allied powers abandon their post WWII. From the GASPIRE+ themes this is social because the government was being unfair to the civilians of the country. This impacted the Cold War because many people were affected by this. -
NATO Formed
The NATO stands for North Atlantic Today Organization. This Organization was made up of the Western Nations. They signed a pledge that said that they would protect and support one another if they got attacked. This had an impact on the War because countries would be more furious that they didn't have the same powers as the other countries. -
Korean War
The Korean War was between South Korea and North Korea. At this time the UN forces which were from the US came to the aid of South Korea. During this war many lives were lost. In the GASPIRE+ themes this would he geographical because this was a war between the same country but just different sides of it.This impacted the Cold War because more war was being started and countries were choosing sides. -
Warsaw Pact
The Warsaw Pact was made up of the Soviet Union, Albania, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, Hungary, Poland, and Romania. This pact was a [pact fro cooperation and mutual assistance between the countries. From the GASPIRE+ themes this would be from the intellectual because the countries that were part of this pact were contributing with new ideas to support each other. This impacted the Cold War because the countries were still not getting along. -
Hungarian Revolution
The Hungarian Revolution lasted for three weeks, from October 23 to November 10. In the three weeks about 30,000 Hungarian Civilians were killed. From the GASPIRE+ themes this would be psychological because the soviet people didn't think that Hungarians were the same, so they saw the need to kill many. This impacted the Cold War because the countries allied with Hungary would protect them by attacking there enemy. -
Space Race
The Space Race was to prove the superiority of its technology. The Soviet Union sent the first man to space and the US sent there first man to the moon. Bay of Pigs Invasion
The US had invaded Cuba. They were trying to put a finish to the rule of Fidel Castro. JFK Assasination
John Fitzgerald Kennedy was assassinated while traveling through Dallas, Texas. A man named Lee Harvey Oswald shot him. Fall of the Berlin Wall
The Berlin Wall was built by the east Berlin government to separate east and west from coming together. Over 2 million people participated on a celebration to take it down. From the GASPIRE+ themes this would be geographical because Berlin is finally coming together. This impacted the Cold War because it affected people. -
End of Soviet Union
The Soviet Union ended on December 25th. From the GASPIRE+ themes this would be political because problems with the countries were resolved. This impacted the Cold War because it was over. -
London Bridge Attack
The London Bridge Attack happened during on Saturday at 5 when some men took knifes out and started killing people there. From the GASPIRE+ themes this would be Religious because the men were killing people from London. This connects to the Cold War because countries aren't getting along. -
Interview
During the interview I talked to my aunt. She didn't really remember because she was really young. My grandparents were scared thought, but didn't like to talk about it in front of m aunts and mom.
