The Assassination of Abraham Lincoln
Civil War time line President Abraham Lincoln was watching a play when confederat supporter John Wilkes Booth came up from behind and shot Lincoln in the back of the head. Lincoln died the next moring. Booth escaped to virgina but 11 days later he was found and killed for his crime. This is an important event in the Civil War becasue this was the first time a president was Assassinated.
