Charles Burton changed the design so instead of pulling the kids behind them they had to push them in front of them so its easier for the mothers/fathers. -

Late 1800's: the Reversible Baby Carriage
William H. Richardson tweaked the pram but he made it reversible. -

1920S: Safety Features First
After World War I ended, prams got an updated now to have safety features. Some of the features were larger wheels, foot brakes, deeper, and roomier prams ( which would be harder for kids to escape), and lower, sturdier frames (so if the kids did get out of the carriages it wasn’t far off the ground). -

1965: The Umbrella Stroller
Owen Maclaren made the first umbrella stroller. It was light weight and compact (fordable).
