When the First Fleet Landed they separated Australia into two boundaries, one called New South Whales and one called New Holland. -

Van Diemen's Land
New South Whales' boundary became bigger and they found an Island which they named Van Diemen's Land. -
Western Australia
They renamed New Holland Western Australia. -
South Australia
They added a new boundary called South Australia. -
North Australia
There was another boundary created called North Australia. North Australia started at Port Curtis, but it failed after 6 Months. -
Victoria
The Victoria boundary was created in the bottom right hand side of New South Whales and there was no longer North Australia. The place where North Australia was, was given back to New South Whales. -
Queensland
Half of the place where North Australia was, was given back to New South Whales. There was another boundary put in place there and it was named Queensland. Van Diemen's Land was newly called Tasmania. -
Panhandle
South Australia became bigger. New South Whales looked like a panhandle. -
South Australia
South Australia became even bigger and finally there were 6 colonies.
