Egeus is angry and takes Hermia to Theseus who gives her 3 choices:
1. die
2. become a nun
3. marry Demetrius -
Helena is jealous of Hermia
Helena clearly states that she's jealous of Hermia because Hermia is beautiful and Demetrius loves her, unlike Helena. -
hermia and lysander plan to run away
Lysander tells hermia of his aunt that lives 3 miles away where they can run away to so where they can get married without the athen laws applying to them. -
Quince announces the play
the names te titile ("the most distressful comedy and most cruel death of pyramus and thisbe") and the actors and their roles:
quincy-thisbe's father
snug- the lion
nick-pyramus
flute- thisbe
snout-thisbe's mother
starveling- pyramus's father -
Nick tries to steal the show
Nick Bottom attempts to gain everyone else's roles and play them, causing himself to become a nuisance. -
Nick tries to decide what beard to play in
he tries to name what beard he is going to play in but the others make a joke and say he may have to play without one -
they agree to a meeting place
they all decide to meet at the Dukes oak tree, in the forest to rehearse the next day, this might not turn out well...who knows though?
