The Beginning
The American Revolution started April 19th, 1775. The conflict happened between the growing tensions between Great Britain's thirteen North American colonies ad the colonial government. The revolution started when the battle of Lexington and Concord broke out. -
Battle of Lexington and Concord
The British troops marched to Concord to take up the arms cache from the colonist. This was the start of the war. -
The Battle of Saratoga
The Battle of Saratoga was the main turning point of the war. This was the first major battle the Americans won. -
The Battle of Yorktown
This battle was the final major battle of the war. This battle ended with the surrender of the British forces. -
The Peace Treaty
Officially in 1783 the war was over and the peace treaty came into action. The peace treaty made the British recognize American independence and the Americans can position all the way to the Mississippi river.
