  • Shiloh

    Armies of Union General Ulysses S. Grant and Confederate General Albert Sidney Johnston collide at Shiloh, near Pittsburgh Landing in Tennessee. One of the bloodiest engagements of the war. April 6th, 1862.
  • 2nd Manassas

    Second battle fought there. Much larger battle than the first one. Battle took place August 28 - August 30, 1862. Confederate Army of Northern Virginia, led by General Rober E. Lee, defeated the Union's Major General John Pope and his Army of Virginia.
  • Antietam

    September 17, 1862, Gen. Robert E. Lee and George McClellan face off near Antietam creek in Sharpsburg, Maryland, in the first battle of the American Civil War to be fought on Northern Soil. Sep. 17th, 1862.
  • Fredericksburg

  • Atlanta

    Atlanta was used as a center for military operations and as a supply route by the Confederate Army during the Cicil War. Also became a target for the Union Army. Gen. William Tecumseh Sherman and his troops captured the citiy in 1864.
  • Appomattox Court House

    April 9, 1865, Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee urrendered his troops to the Union Gen. Ulysses S. Grat in front of the parlor of Wilmer McLean's home in Appomattox Court House, Virginia, effectively ending the American Civil War.
