Introduced to compass

Introduced to Max Talmud
Einstein met Max Talmud at 10 years old. Einstein only knew Max as a family friend before but he soon became an informal tutor for Einstein. Talmud introduced Einstein to higher and more challenging mathematics and philosophy. Those higher math's and philosophies were used in a turning point in Einstein life when he reaches 16 years old (Kaku 1). -
Special Theory of Relativity
The Special Theory of Relativity produced the most famous equation, E=mc2. This equation helps explain Einstein's theory that mass and energy can be changed into each other. The increased relativistic mass (m) of a body times the speed of light squared (c2) is equal to the kinetic energy (E) of that body. Before Einstein came up with his Special Theory and famous equation all physical theories were viewed as distinct entities, when really they are the same physical entity (Kaku 1). -
World War I
WWI began on Jul. 28, 1914. Archduke Franz Ferdinand assassination in Sarajevo precipitated Austria-Hungary's declaration of war against Serbia, which in turn triggered a series of events that resulted in Austria-Hungary's allies and Serbia's declaring war on each other, starting WWI. The Austro-Hungarian empire agreed the Armistice of Villa Giusti military was no longer willing to fight. Wilhelm abdicated on Nov. 9 and Germany also signed an Armistice on Nov 11 1918, ending the war (Grun 468). -
General Theory of Relativity is Published
Einstein's General Theory of Relativity shows that the speed of light within a vacuum is the same no matter the speed at which an observer travels. As a result, he found that space and time were interwoven into a single continuum known as space-time. So events that occur at the same time for one observer could occur at different times for another (Alchin 1). -
Nobel Prize in Physics
Albert Einstein was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics 1921, in 1922. He was given the award for his services to Theoretical Physics and his discovery of the law of the photoelectric effect. He was awarded in 1921 but didn't get an award till 1922 because Nobel Committee for Physics decided that none of the year's nominations met the criteria in the will of Alfred Nobel. So the Nobel Foundation's statutes that the Nobel Prize can in such a case be reserved until the following year (none 1). -

Takes a position at Princeton University
Albert first visited Princeton University in 1921 to give five Stafford Little lectures on the theory of relativity and accept an honorary degree. Einstein later came back to Princeton, New Jersey in 1933, where he remained living for the rest of his life. He became a life member of the newly founded Institute for Advanced Study, and worked at Princeton University in room 109 for the rest of his working life. (Olson 47). -

On August 2nd, 1939, President Franklin D. Roosevelt would receive a letter. This letter is called the Einstein-Szilárd letter. The letter was written by Leo Szilárd and signed by Albert Einstein warning Roosevelt that Germany may have nuclear weapons.
