The Haddow Report suggested 11 year olds either attended secondary modern schools or grammar schools until the age of fifteen. -
Butler Education Act
Education fees are abolished up till the age of 18 and three types of secondary schools are established; Grammar, Technical and Secondary modern schools. -
The National Curriculum is introduced
This was to ensure children were all taught the same content across all subjects including mathematics. -

Mathematics A Level course (along with other subjects) is broken down into six modules, three of which are sat a year earlier. -

Attended Aylward First School
Attended Aylward First School which is currently known as Aylward Primary School. This school was deemed as inadequate by Ofstead and after failing to improve past Requires improvement the school became a sponsor led academy with a new head teacher. -
Moved to Stanburn First School
I moved primary schools as this was walking distance from my house. I had not been offered a place there when initially applying for first schools and was therefore placed on the waiting list. -

Attended Stanburn Middle School
Middle school was from years 4 - 7. Harrow was one of the only boroughs that kept students in Primary school for year 7. -
I complete the 11+ for schools outside the Harrow Borough
As other boroughs' high schools started in year 7 it was possible to complete the 11+ for these schools and transfer to them for year 7. I was placed on the waiting list as catchment areas were still taken into account. This resulted in me completing year 7 in primary school with a reduced number of students left in the year. -
SATs Scrapped
All SATs for fourteen year olds are scrapped along with the science exam for eleven year olds -
Started Park High School
The Borough of Harrow decided to become level with the rest of the country meaning there was an intake of both year 7 (for the first time) and year 8s.
It was a technology collage that had an 'Outstanding' Ofsted rating and was given the title of the best school in the area' at the time. -
Park High School converts to acadamy status
Park High is awarded academy status along with most other High Schools in Harrow. -
'Accelerated' Mathematics, AS ICT and Philosophy & Ethics Course offered
The school offered a select amount of students to complete GCSE Mathematics in one year. In addition, there was an option to complete AS ICT and Full Course Philosophy & Ethics over two years. -
Science GCSE format changes
Rather than allowing GCSE Science to be sat across two years (3 exams each year) it was changed to a more linear style so all six modules were sat at the end of year eleven. -
School switches to English IGCSE
Following the governments decision to abolish the speaking and listening aspect of GCSE English, my school opted to change to IGCSE English which meant redoing certain bits of coursework. -
Graduated from Park High School

Opted to continue at Park High Sixth Form for A Levels
I went on to study A Levels in Mathematics, English Literature, Sociology and Psychology. -
New mathematics curriculum
A new mathematics curriculum came into force for pupils in years 2, 6 and 10 -
New Cirriculum and Grades
A new mathematics curriculum came into force for pupils in year 11 and a new 9-1 grading system is introduced so A*-G grades are non existent. -
