6.8 mya- The Tomarctus species were a lot like wolves. They were aggressive and territorial. They killed their prey using their sharp claws. -

2.5 mya- The Borophagus species looked like hyenas with big jaws and strong chewing muscles. -

Canis Lupus (wolves)
32,000-18,000 years ago- This species had strong sense of smell and would kill its prey using its big teeth and strong jaw. They hunted in packs and ate from human trash piles. They got friendlier to humans in order to get food. -
Domestic Dogs
As time went on, wolves teeth and jaws became smaller. They continued to be friendly to humans to get food. Around 150 years ago, humans started to breed wolves and they adapted into dogs.
