The Battle of Britain was an Invasion of German airplanes fighting against the Royal Air Force. The Lend Lease Act was passed on March 11, 1941. It was an act passed for the U.S. to send Allie nations supplies for the war efforts. This Act was passed for Waring nations such as Britain to get weapons and vehicles from the U.S. but had to pay money and had to get it themselves. Operation of Barbarossa was a plan made up by Hitler and his generals, of the major cities of Russia they are going to take. Bataan Death March
With the U.S. surrendering on the Bataan Peninsula, approximately 75,000 Filipino and American soldiers were captured and forced to make a 65 mile march to prison camps. The captured soldiers had harsh treatment. In February 1945, U.S. Filipino forces recaptured the Bataan Peninsula and liberated the prisoner camps. -

The Warsaw Ghetto Uprising
Residents of the Jewish ghetto started an armed revolt against deportations to extermination camps. In the Warsaw ghetto a organization was created known as the Jewish Combat Organization, or the ZOB. The ZOB smuggled in weapons and started there armed revolt. D-Day or Operation Overlord was a plan of American, Canadian, British forces landed on five beaches on the coast of France's Normandy region. Dwight Eisenhower was in charge of planning Operation Overlord and this operation took a long time to prepare. The Liberation of Concentration camps
The first concentration camp was liberated by the Soviets, the first camp they liberated was the Majdanek camp in Poland. And later during the year liberated more camps. On July 27, 1945 they liberated Auschwitz the largest of the concentration camps. Battle of Iwo Jima
The Battle of Iwo Jima was a primary location for a U.S. airbase in distance to strike Japan. The Island was heavily defended and took many months of fighting for the U.S. to take control of Iwo Jima. Hiroshima and Nagasaki
With the first dropping of the atomic bomb over Hiroshima the blast wiped out 90 percent of the city and killed 80,000 people. Then with the second dropping of the atomic bomb over Nagasaki killed an estimated of 40,000 people.
