Canada Declares War On Germany
Canada declares war on Germany. This is significant because this is Canada's first independent declaration of war. Canada played an important role in this war especially at the Battle of the Atlantic. Canada has the fourth largest air force and third largest naval surface fleet. -
The Soviet Union Invasions
Between September 17, 1939 to August 8, 1945 the Soviet Union invaded Poland, Finland, Luthuania, Latvia, Estonia, Hungary, Germany and Japan. This is significant because all these invasions show that Russia was a very dominant country during World War II. -
Germany Invades Multiple Countries
Between April 9, 1940 to May 9, 1945 Germany fought and/or invaded Holland, Belgium, France, Denmark, Norway, Romania, Yugoslavia, Greece, Estonia, the Soviet Union and USA. All countries surrendered or lost their battle with Germany except for the Soviet Union and USA who defeated Germany. This is significant because it shows that Germany was another dominant country during this war. Canada's role in these battles were sending supplies to their allies like England, France, etc. -

During July 10, 1940 to October 31, 1940 the Battle of Britain took place. This event is significant because this was the first battle in World War II that Germany lost. Canada helped Britain defeat Germany by sending their air force. -
The Dieppe Raid
On Augest 19, 1942 5000 Canadians went to the town of Dieppe. Canadians planned to make a frontal assault on the town of Dieppe but failed terribly with 1000 died and almost 2000 taken as prisoners. The significance of this raid is that this was one of Canada's biggest failures. -
The Battle of the Atlantic
The battle of the Atlantic started on September 3, 1939 and lasted for 5 years, 8 months and 5 days when it ended on May 8, 1939. This event is significant because it was the longest, largest and most complex naval battle in history. Canada sent their Royal Canadian Navy to fight against the Germans. -

World War II comes to an end on September 2, 1945 when Japan surrended to the United States. World War II was six years and a day long.
