I am leaving today to start my new life as a sodbuster out on the Great Plains. I can't wait to start this new life. I know it will entail alot of physical labor but i have heard about this new steel plow that should make it easier. -
Great Plains
I finally made it out west. I have 160 arces of my very own land. All i have to do is live on it for 5 years, build a house, and farm it. Thank God for the Homestead Act. -

I just got a new plow today. It is made of steel and is much easier to use. I can now plow three times as much land as before. My future is looking brighter. -
Dawes Act
I had visitors today. They said they were on the way to claim land in Oklahoma. They called it the Oklahoma land rush. I don't like that the Indians are being pushed around but it does make me feel safer. -
Fredrick Jackson Turner
I finally made it into town today to sell a load of wheat, and i met a man named Fredrick Jackson Turner. He had this radical idea that the new American character was formed by frontier. The more i think about it, the more i think he may be right. He said he was even writing a paper about it. -
