Odysseus gained allies and strength with family.We learn the Odysseus is a remarkable leader.His crew is very dependent on his but they are loyal.Odysseus is also a strong man and helps win the Trojan war.This theme develops loyalty

    Lotus-Eaters
    When Odysseus and his crew land in the island of Lotus Eaters.They encounter a group of people who consume the Lotus flower.When Odysseus and his crew try the lotus flower they don’t want to leave the island.But being the leader he is Odysseus dragged his men back to the ship.Escaping all of the danger. Odysseus and his crew gained conciseness.Odysseus also showed how amazing of a leader he is.And how serious he is about his crew.Which develops a theme of trustworthiness.

    Cyclops
    During their journey home from the Trojan war.Odysseus crew they land Cyclopes island.Where they get trapped in Polyphemus cave the giant.He starts to devour Odysseus men but he tells him his name in Nobody.Which lead them to escape.But Polyphemus ends up cursing him. Odysseus learns how to use his cleverness usefully.But his decision to reveal his true identity was his pride getting to him.Which leads to dire consequences as Polyphemus curses him.Odysseus actions reflect cockyness.

    Aeolus- Bag of wind
    After Odysseus and his crew escape Cyclopes.They encounter Aeolus on his floating island.Aeolus provides Odysseus with a special gift.That would help him and his crew sail back.But this bag of wind they open throws them off course.Leading them back to Aeolus island. We learn that Odysseus and his crew learn to be unpredictable.And human cooperation is very important.And it shows how Odysseus journey is shaped by his actions.Which means it’s important to navigate around obstacles.

    When Odysseus lands on the island of Aeaea.Circe invites Odysseus to her palace where she offers him a feast.But she turns his men into swine using a magical potion.Circe is unable to trans form him so she accepts defeat.Promising to reverse the spell on his men. This sequence captures temptation,transformation, and leadership.It highlights the growth of Odysseus as a leader.And his braveness to stand up to Circe.Which means Odysseus is coming along well as a individual.

    Scyalla and Charybdis
    These two creatures symbolize the dangerous seas.And the harsh choices Odysseus must make.These two creatures are incredible one being monsterous and the other being a whirlpool.Scyalla eats 6 of Odysseus crew members.Which leaves them in devastation once they escape. This chapter was a lot more sadder than the rest.Which escalates the tragic journey of Odysseus.Which means the journey is more about leadership.Than physical challenges and showing self pride.

    On their journey home Odysseus and his crew encounter sirens.Which are dangerous creatures who lure sailors with their songs. Circe warns Odysseus about the sirens before he leaves.Odysseus wants to listen but he had self-control and doesn’t.Once the sirens failed they retreated. Odysseus shows he had gained self-control and wisdom because.Old Odysseus would of listened to the sirens.Odysseus shows courage and strength when fighting the sirens.Odysseus heroism navigates through challenges

    Helios Cattle
    When Odysseus and his crew land on the island in Thrinacia. Their hunger is very severe and can not go on for so much longer.So Odysseus and his crew eats Helios cattle.But he doesn’t repay Helios so he goes to Zeus.And Zeus strikes Odysseus and his crew leaveing Odysseus men to die and now he is alone on a raft. Odysseus learns not to let his pride get ahead of him.And he pays for it by his men dying. Which shows a theme of staying humble.No matter what advantages you think you have.

    Suitors/Home
    After returning from the Trojan war from being gone for 20 years.Odysseus comes back home and sees hundreds of suitors in his home.His wife sets up a contest and Odysseus wins.He also gains back her trust later on leading him to regain the kingdom. Odysseus turned out to be the leader his crew needed him to.He showed that after all his wreckless ways were now gone.And he was ready to lead a kingdom again. Proving his story is very important in Greek mythology.
