Animal
People then realized,"Hey, why don't we just ride donkeys?" This started transportation by animal. These animals included mostly horses, donkeys, and camels. -

Wheel
The first wooden wheel was invented in Iraq, which lead to chariots and wagons and things like that. -

Sailing Boat
The first sailing boat was created which offered was to cross water. It was not really efficient for traveling long distances though. -

Wooden Ships
These were more for long distance travels and trade. This is what pirates are known for having! -
Steam Locomotive
This was a huge impact. It was very ideal for its time and could carry up to 10 tons of iron. -
Steam Boat
This was bigger boats and a step up from the wooden boats. This was more ideal. The Titanic was a steam boat! -
Bicycle
The fist bicycle was invented in Germany. This was a very ideal for traveling short distances. Like riding your bike to your friends house. -
Monorail
This is like a train, but in the sky. They have them at Disney World to get from park to park. They also have them in Vegas to get to different casinos. -
Cable Cars
This is also known as a trolley. These are common in older cities and are like a mix of a bus and a train on a cable -
Motor Car
This was also huge for it's time. It was the first model of a car that we see today. -
Motorcycle
This was also invented in 1885. You don't see them as common as cars, but hey, its pretty cool when you see a biker gang go flying past you on the interstate. -
Tractor
These are more commonly used for farming, but every now and then you see one driving down the road holding up traffic... -
Bus
This is what most people ride to and from school everyday and also a common way to travel, especially in big cities -
Truck
Trucks were ideal for pulling things over land or just holding stuff in the bed. -
Subway
This is huge for big cities. For one, it saves room and for two, it's a train underground! The first one was in Boston and was actually just a cable car that went underground. -
Semi-Truck
Aka, the 18-wheelers, are amazing for carrying products on land. You see them everywhere nowadays, but they can very dangerous. -
Airplane
This is still a very common way of travel and one of the fastest ways to travel. -
Helicopter
This is less common for travel, but they still are great for military stuff and carrying things. -
Spaceship
Now, this is not a common way of transportation, but it is a method of one, and a huge one. Maybe the future will be involved with these more.
