Ivan the terrible became ruler at 3 years old. He was the first ruler to call himself Czar. He established a secret police force. Ivan also steels land and give it to the loyal nobles.

Peter the Great

Peter the great was known for his extensive reforms. He wanted to establish Russia as a great nation. In 1697 he took a grand tour of Europe to learn modern technology. When he returned to Russia a year later he began the " Westernization Process".
