In June 2004, the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) requested the FDOT to restart the PD&E project. A PD&E study is supposed to ensure that transportation projects cater to the community and follow policies in the National Environmental Policy Act. -

Evolution of SR7 Corridor
The county of Palm Beach proposed to build an extension to a road. The county argued that the extension was necessary to reduce traffic aggravation and support Palm Beach's growing population. However, the proposed extension runs straight through a huge natural preserve. -
Elected Officials/Agency Meeting
For the first time, elected officials of the county and different agencies involved in the project meet to discuss different options for the road and their varying impacts on the local community and landscape. -
Public Kickoff Meeting
Held at Royal Palm Beach High School, 116 participants gathered to engage the public on the progress of the SR7 extension plan. The meeting was open-house and informal. -
Agency Workshop Meeting
36 Representatives from various agencies meet at the Florida Water Management District Office. They discuss permitting, environmental effects, and project need. -
Corridor Selection Meeting
Officials and agency representatives meet and decide that the corridor 3 option is best -
Traffic Analysis
The traffic analysis study is finally completed. It is considered consistent with the Palm Beach MPO 2035 Long Range Traffic Plan. -
Finalize Environmental, Noise, and Socio-Economic Impacts
These impacts are finalized and solutions are made to mitigate their effects with the proposed corridor 3. -
