Three Resolutions/Parliament Dismissed
Parliament passed three resolutions because of problems. 1, they would condemn any change to religion which was protestantism, 2, they would condemn any taxation that they didnt authorize and 3, any merchant who paid "illegal" taxes btrayed the liberty of England. Because of this Charles dimisses the Parliament again because he doesn't like how they make decisions w. out hi consent. -
King Arrests and Imprisons
King Charles arrests members of Parliament because of "offenses against the state". King is more disliked because of this decision but he defends himself by stating his divine right. -

New Parliament refuses to authorize any new taxes until King recalss Ship Money. King gets mad and dismisses them for three weeks. -

King Charles needed money to defend himself against the trouble hec aused inScotland so he recalled the Parliament so he could use their money -

Thomas Wentworh and the Earl of Strafford were executed by the Parliament on Tower Hill to show King Charles they had power too. -

Act allowed Parliament to be summoned w. out royal command. Because of this they were able to decalre Ship money ILLEGAL -
Revolt in Ireland
Ireland gets mad at King Charles for his actions. Parliament refuses to be part of King Charles mistakes and takes no responsibilty for his actions. -

Although Parliament does not want to have to engage in bloodshed against the people of their own, they know that King Charles will not change &they both prepare for war. -
Charles tries to Arrest
King Charles gets mad at the Parliament again and sends his horsemen to arrest them, but the Parliament is warnesd and is able to run away. People side w. them now. -

King Charles officially declares war even though both sides hope that it could be avoided. -

Royals Don't Want to Fight
Royalists led by Prince Rupert succesfully capture Brentford, but he gets surprised to be blcoked by an army of 24,000 when the Royalist commander decides to retire, because he does not truly want to fight -
Surrender
King Charles surrender to the Scots andthen in June 24, surrenders to Parliament also. He was eventually outrun by his bad actions that bit him back. -
King Charles runs but cant escape
King Charles runs away because he was imprisoned! But then they found him, and Parliament took it upon court for his actiosn against treason. -
The Beginning of The End
By this time, King Charles was found guilty and was guillotined out Whitehall Palace in London. And the English had a unestablished leader: Oliver Cromwell.
