Constitution of 1824
The basic rules which Mexico made, making everyone be of the catholic religion. It was written by the Mexican Government and Stephen F. Austin conferred with them. The purpose was to set down the basic laws and to help them gain their independence. -
Fredonion Rebellion
The Edwards brothers were angry that they lost their contracts, and tried to start a rebellion, but were unsuccessful. -
Mier Y Teran Report
This report encouraged the Mexican government to take more control over Texas and make sure that the United States doesn't take it over. It was written by Manuel de Mier Y Teran who traveled to Texas during an expedition. -
Guerro Decree
Decree made and enforced the no slavery law in Texas and put anyone in jail if they didn't obey his law. -
Law of April 6, 1830
This law was made to stop or slow down all the immigrants coming to Texas, after the Mier Y Teran Report. They did not allow slaves into Texas and planned to take away Empresario contracts. Stephen F. Austin didn't like the law and convinced the government to limit some parts of the law. This law made him and most of the settlers lose some of their trust in the Mexican government. -
Conflict at Anahuac
An attempt to block the trinity so immigrants couldn't get through to help Texas. In the process William Travis and Patrick Jack were arrested and as a result the turtle bayou document was made. -
Turtle Bayou Resolutions
After the arrests of William Travis and Patrick Jack, the settlers were very upset. They said that the government wasn't following the constitution and said that they were going to leave unless changes were made. The Mexican Government agreed to release the prisoners and follow the constitution, if the settlers remained in Texas and loyal to Mexico. They agreed. -
Battle of Valasco
Th battle of Velasco was a battle where the Texans went to get a cannon so they Mexicans blocked their entry on the way back into Texas and it was the first bloodshed in the revolution. -
Convention of 1832
The Texans decided to make their own government and rebel against the Mexican control. -
Convention of 1833
The Texans held a meeting after the first convention to make a constitution to submit to the Mexicans. They also sent Stephen F. Austin to Mexico city alone. -
Stephen F Austin Goes to Mexico City
Stephen F Austin traveled to Mexico City to meet with Santa Anna about the petitions of The Convention of 1833. Anna agreed to everything, except allowing Texas it's own government. After leaving, Austin was arrested under suspicion of treason. He remained a prisoner for a year because they didn't hold a trial for him. -

The period that Mexico fought Spain for their independence. -
The Consultaiton
This was a debate between the people who wanted to stay part of Mexico for longer, and those who wanted to immediately declare independence. In the end it established a provisional government, and declared Austin as the leader of the army.
