    Miriam A. Ferguson was the first Texan governer of Texas. She was elected into offive when her husband, James Edward Ferguson, was impeached from office in 1917. She was the 29th governer of Texas, and the 32nd governer on her second term.

    Assassination in Dallas- JFK
    John F. Kennedy was assassinated on Nov. 22 1963. He was shot, while in a parade in Dealey Plaza, Dallas, by Lee Harvey Oswald. Oswald shot three different bullets, two of which hit the president. There may have been two shooters, and the second missed his shot. LHO shot JFK in the neck, and after this in the head. President Kennedy died while en route to the hospital.

His son, George W. Bush became president one term after this. Bush as president during a period of change for the world. THe soviet Union was dissolving, the Berlin Wall collapsing, and the rise of terrorism. He had a bid for reelection, but he lost. As of recent years, he has a 60 percent positive rating.
